Destiny Video Game Review Now Up

Yeah, okay, not nearly as cool as Orson Welles playing a giant planet eating Transformer, but then, what is? In any event, a decent enough game to hear J.C. and friends tell of it in the review for the MMORPG/FPS known as Destiny. Addicting anyway, considering how much time I see him spending on it, heh; in that it certainly does the job it sets out to do. The review itself will focus on the recently updated year 2 gameplay with more than a bit of comparison to what came before and what they'd like to see later. It should be noted this one is over two hours long, so get yourself a beer and some's going to be one helluva trip.

From the Destiny Wikipedia Entry:

Destiny is a first-person shooter video game developed by Bungie and published by Activision. It was released on September 9, 2014, for the PlayStation 3, PlayStation 4, Xbox 360, and Xbox One consoles. Destiny marked Bungie's first new franchise since the Halo series, and it is the first game in a ten-year agreement between Bungie and Activision. Set in a "mythic science fiction" world, the game features a massively-multiplayer "shared-world" environment with elements of role-playing games. The Japanese version was translated by Zenigame Nakamoto, and published on September 11, 2014.

Amagi Brilliant Park Anime Review Up

And so, rather than from several seasons ago, I review the anime from last season, Amagi Brilliant Park. A light hearted romp that was a little more deep than it likely should have been, and a lot funnier than I would have imagined. Check out the review, and see if this bit of fluff is to your tastes. If not, I'm sure Sento will be, heh.

Amagi Brilliant Park (TV, 2014)

Pop Quiz! Exceedingly hot girl with huge knockers shoves a flintlock she stole from Mami Tomoe into your face and informs you that you will go out with her on a date. What do you do? WHAT! DO! YOU! DO!? If you answered anything other than "Go out with her, of course." then you probably deserve the extra ventilation you're about to receive. In the case of our main character, Seiya Kanie, he chose far wiser, and not only went with her on a date, he found out said date was more of an excuse to get him to the failing amusement park, Amagi Brilliant Park, and to listen to its owner's request that he help her save it...or she and those working there will surely die. And so begins the adventures of Kanie as the new Manager of this park, finding both that he's damn good at that job and that is has several things to teach both him and those within about themselves and about each other; all the while the foreclosure of the park looms its shroud of death over them all.

Dragon's Dogma: Dark Arisen Review Up

And so for a review that's been bugging me to be written for awhile (and ironically after I finish Dragon Age Inquisition), we have the review for the good yet deeply flawed game Dragon's Dogma: Dark Arisen.

Published in New Reviews

On an unnamed world in the island duchy of Gransys, you live in the small fishing village of Cassardis, tending to your nets and looking fondly at your childhood friend, Quina. When, as is usual for these stories, something happens. In this case, the great dragon attacks, and does what dragons do...kill and destroy. Fearing for your village, you take up a weapon and charge the beast. You know full well you have no chance, but maybe you can buy time for others to get away, especially Quina. Strangely enough, you manage to actually scratch the creature, drawing it's curiosity as it pins you under its claws. For your heroism, you earn a new reward...agony, as it tears your heart out and devours it in front of you. Strangely though, you do not die. It informs you that you are now an Arisen, and if you want your heart're going to have to gain much greater power, track him down, and kill him. You've heard of this occurring before; you're certainly not the first or the only one. Still that puts you in a very odd position, and thus it is the start of your journey. You quickly learn that the Arisens never journey alone as these creatures called Pawns are drawn to you and are driven to help you. Good luck!
