Anison USA February 2016 Day 1 Video Up
About a week ago I attended an event called Anison (short for Anime Song) USA. Apparently in their second year, it showcases various J-pop or J-pop inspired artists performing for their fans over here. This year included the talents of Ayu, Nozomi, Vandead Bakery, Roli Angel, Ally and Sally (, Momoi Halko, and Yumi Matsuzawa. Day one actually took place at a little anime store in Temple City, CA called Desu-nation. Aside from having to find a place to film, shooing people out of the way occasionally, and dealing with my camera being bumped and even knocked over once, it was an interesting and fairly decent event. Long Beach Comic Con was going on that weekend as well, but to be honest, the larger events are beginning to really piss me off considering what happens after a time with every convention once it reaches a certain critical mass in its membership. The smaller gatherings are beginning to be a lot more rewarding artistically, since you can actuallY BE artistic both in terms of covering them and for those performing in them for a receptive audience. So, click on the jump and you can check out day one of Anison USA's video. Day two, taking place at the Bootleg Theatre in L.A. and its pictures should be up sometime this week as well. Enjoy!

Fanime 2011 Report Now Up
Well my fine feathered friends, we have for you today, a romp around the Fanime convention of 2011 in the form of a news report by yours truly.
Great and terrible deeds were performed this time around, as we watch Fanime break the 20k attendee mark, while having to deal with Industry and Venue meddling at the same time they're trying to remain a convention by the fans for the fans. Fun was still had, but much was done that makes one question how long they can pull it off at their current venue and them becoming quite noticeable by pretty much everyone now. But you don't need me talking your ear off here. Click the link above and check it out for yourself.
Fanime 2011 Masquerade Torrent Now Up
Having had to divide my time between covering the Black and White Ball and the Masquerade, I had to get a good friend, Pio Buenaventura, to record the Masquerade for me, which is what I now present to you here on the Nyaa Torrents site. Truly, I thank Pio from the bottom of my heart, this video would not have been possible without him.
Pio actually does a lot of impromptu filming at conventions of the various goings on. To find more of his work, hit up his Youtube channel here, something I recommend highly.
Dante's Inferno (xBox 360, 2010)
Overview
While he didn't participate in the Crusades himself, Dante Alighieri the poet was a member of the Guelph cavalry, in the years before he penned the three parts of one of the greatest pieces of literature in the history of the world, the Divine Comedy. This epic consisted of three parts, the Inferno, Purgatorio, and Paradiso. They described a journey taken by Dante, guided by the Roman poet Virgil, and later his unrequited love Beatrice, as he became lost and misled at the midpoint of his life. He descended through hell, Virgil teaching him about each of the nine rings and some of the inhabitants within, then ascended through purgatory's nine levels and eventually into paradise's nine levels. The poems were unusual in that while they did tell a story, story telling was not their primary purpose. Instead, they served much more as a sort of roadmap to the journey, crafting through word and prose a vision that to this day defines hell, and to a lesser extent purgatory and heaven. That roadmap is the one that Visceral Games decided to illuminate with their own interpretation of Dante's Inferno.
Batman: Arkham Asylum (PC, 2009)
Overview
Batman has been a fixture in the world of DC Comics since he was created in the late 1940's, rising to become one of the trinity pillars of DC's many, MANY superheroes. Dark and brooding, though he has allies in his personal war, Batman has most often stood alone against the criminals that overrun Gotham. His personal rogues gallery includes some of the most colorful figures of villainy ever devised, from the sexy and seductive dryad-like Poison Ivy to Gotham's Crown Prince of Comedy himself, the Joker. Gotham city itself, the protectorate of the dark knight, has grown to become a living, breathing entity over the years, a creature fighting to overcome the sickness trying to devour it. And in all of Gotham, if there's one place that could be called the source of the infection, it would have to be a small island in the middle of Gotham Bay named Arkham Island… the home of Arkham Asylum.
Anime Expo Masquerade 2008 version 2
There was a slight sync problem in the original release of the Masquerade around the middle of the file which forced me to go back and recreate it. Around this time, Pinnacle in every version that I used decided to start malfunctioning. Basically the transition fades I was trying to place in the file would either just plain flat out not work, pixelate, or turn green when they were supposed to fade out and in.
Anime Expo 2006 CosPlay Part 2
Finally, I've encoded and torrented part 2 of Anime Expo 2006's Cosplay. This year, the entertainment between the cosplay and judging was just as good, if not better at many points, than the actual cosplay itself. I've encoded this one in x264 as an experiment, so if there's any problems, let me know.
