Splintered Convictions

This time around we head into the shadows for a little stealth action with a look at Tom Clancy's Splinter Cell: Conviction. No need to bring a flashlight… you're the monster in the dark that all the bad guys are gonna be afraid of.

You Must Be My Lucky Star!

If I were a decent man, I'd apologize for the song I quoted for this news item. As I'm not anywhere near decent, we can move past that as you writhe on the floor in hatred and agony. Failing that, you could always just click right here to move yourself on to today's review of the anime, Lucky Star.

Lucky Star (Anime,2007)

Lucky Star is a manga and anime series which focuses on the lives of several girls who live in Kasukabe in Saitama Prefecture of Japan and attend a High School called Ryoo. The story typically focuses on its main character Konata Izumi as she interacts with her friends, making observations and conversation about their various interests, each other, and the world around them. Given that Kontata is what can only be classified as an Otaku Surrogate and a not so closet a pervert, these activities, conversations, and observations can get really fun indeed.

In the Rubber Room

Well, some people would say that's where I belong anyway, but this time around you're invited to join Batman as he returns his favorite mass-murdering psychopath to his ha-ha-hacienda yet again. And hey, even I'm not crazy enough to turn down the Joker's invitation to join the party! Besides, never know if you might find out you have a natural immunity to Poison Ivy, right? Only way to find out is by getting yourself committed to Arkham Asylum.

So, after playing through both Dragon Age: Origins and Darksiders, the time has finally come for me to do my review. Having no way of ever hoping to top the Draconic largeness that is my compatriot's quite accurate review of Dragon Age and leaving me with no other alternative, outside of reviewing Phantasy Star 2 (a game I despise more than I can say in such a short space), my review will focus on Darksiders.

It's a damn good game, and it delivered on the fun it promised, but check out the review, and see it for yourself.

Darksiders (Video Game, 2010)

Armageddon, the final battle between Heaven, Hell, and Earth in which the fate of creation shall be decided, has come. Streaking to the ground in balls of living fire, the armies of Heaven and Hell lay waste to the Earth and its people, who are not yet strong enough to withstand such an onslaught. Enter into this conflict the awesome visage of War, one of the Four Horsemen of the Apocalypse, there to bring order to the conflict; only to find out that the Earth was not ready, his fellow Horsemen not present, and the final seventh seal was not broken. Recalled by the Charred Council and accused of starting the final conflict prematurely, War is stripped of most of his power, and given the chance to clear his name after being sent back to Earth. There he finds nearly a century has passed and the humans all dead leaving the demonic hordes to run rampant over the ruins of a shattered world. It's going to be a Helluva trip; time to saddle up, lock and load, and show everyone the why for and the whatnot, because they just pissed off the wrong mother fucker.

Man, I must be going soft. Either that or I really need a cute and cuddly girlfriend, and I'm not willing to place bets on which it is. In any event, here's a surprisingly entertaining series that I have a review for, known as Nogizaka Haruka no Himitsu, or if you want to know what that means, The Secret of Haruka Nogizaka. Truthfully a guilty pleasure, but a satisfying one, or at least it is at the point of this review. It's honestly showing signs of sliding into 2chan-Hell, but we'll see if it can keep from doing that as time goes on. Still, I'm certain you are more interested in what I have to say in there here and now, so head on over to the review, and see if it's something you'd like to watch yourself...or not.
