Tenchi Muyo OVA 3 (TV, 2004-2005)

If you don't know this one by now, may the gods have mercy upon your soul. Anyway, Tenchi Muyo is about a faceless cypher, Tenchi Masaki (or is it Misaki? I always get those confused), who didn't start out that way, but draws a magical sword from a stone, freeing the demon Ryouko which causes no end of mischief to befall him in the form of several other girls in what is probably one of the first pure harem animes ever made.

Utawarerumono Review

Alright folks, here's a new review that's been waiting in the wings; it's it's Utawarerumono, based on the Tactical RPG Eroge of the same name.  Join Hakuro and his friends in what I think stands of great chance of becoming this generation's classic fantasy anime.  I'll let my review speak for itself on what I think, so enjoy.  As always, you can find a conversation thread on the forums as well. Zero no Tsukaima (TV, Season One, 2006, Nolen)

Zero no Tsukaima, or Zero's Familiar, is all about an inept magician in training and the familiar she summoned. Turns out the familiar she wound up summoned was actually a human being from 'our world.' Too bad on this world, Saito is just a commoner, which earns Zero a great deal of ridicule, and himself a lot of Zero's ire for being a human, and worse, a normal human at that...or is he?

Witchblade (TV, 2005)

Masane Amaha has problems - as hard as she tries, she can't seem to get her life right. On her own, it wouldn't be so bad, but Amaha has her daughter, Rihoko, to worry about too. The problem with that is that they live in a world in which children are incredibly rare, and the Child Welfare Agency has the government granted right to take children away for the least hint of cause. So when Amaha steals a Police Car after a moment of weakness in which she signs Rihoko over to the CWA in the belief that she'd be better off, you'd better believe that her problems are just beginning. Readers of the the Witchblade comic series should be interested to see the events that follow, as Witchblade is only just starting to get into gear.

Shuffle! Review

This week it's Shuffle! in the spotlight, as I take a look at the TV series by Navel & Omegavision.  A great little romp of a story, despite some pretty basic Harem beginnings, take a look at the review to see why I think it's well worth a shot.

Rozen Maiden Träumend (TV, 2005)

Following the ending of the first season of Rozen Maiden, the 5th doll of the Maiden's, Shinku, formerly flush with her victory over Suigin Tou now finds herself wracked with guilt over destroying a sister. Unfortunately, the final two Rozen Maidens have been awoken to finish what was started centuries ago when Rozen first created the Maidens: The Alice Game. The game by which the dolls will do battle until only one remains. The winner takes the loser's Roza Mystica, the very source of the life of the dolls; leaving the loser a soulless immobile husk. And when there is only one left, that doll will then have the power to become Alice; the perfect girl, flawless and unblemished, more sublime than any flower, and more pure than even the purest of gems. Though the remaining dolls have no intention of killing each other for this ideal, Bara Suisho, the final doll, has other plans.

Rozen Maiden: Träumend Review

Today we have a review the next season of a series I think everyone should probably take time to sit down and watch, Rozen Maiden: Träumend. A fair warning to those that may find yourself hopelessly hooked on this wonderful and deep story.

This week marks the first appearance of the Dragon's Anime previews section. Unlike reviews, the previews section will deal with first impressions of the first couple episodes of a series, sort of a heads up for people that are looking for something new to try. The first preview is for the new series Tactical Roar, produced by Studio A-Cat and Bandai Visual. In addition, I've also moved the Hellsing Ultimate review over into previews.
