Anime Expo Masquerade 2008 version 2

There was a slight sync problem in the original release of the Masquerade around the middle of the file which forced me to go back and recreate it. Around this time, Pinnacle in every version that I used decided to start malfunctioning. Basically the transition fades I was trying to place in the file would either just plain flat out not work, pixelate, or turn green when they were supposed to fade out and in.

I'm on a roll this week. For your viewing pleasure I have the Anime Expo 2008 Masquerade up, courtesy of our tracker Nyaa Torrents.

I've been told there's been some problems with initial seeding. If so, don't hesitate to drop us a line for this, or any other reason, on the forums. CLOSED

Fanime 2008 Report Part 0

Taking a break from Neverwinter 2 (yes, I know that game has been out for about a year now), I finally get back to doing my goddamn job here at Dragon's Anime, heheheh. For your viewing pleasure, I have Day 0 of the Fanime 2008 report up.

Fanime Report 2008

Fanime 2008 was, overall, a pretty enjoyable and oddly restfull experience. I’d go so far as to say even low key. It doesn’t share the same tireless energy as ACEN, the frenzied pace of Anime Expo, or the overwhelming (even disorientating) abundance of Comic Con, but it has its share of things to do; all of which are fun. However, Fanime always has this tone of being extremely laid back, or as Gensao put it, “It’s a three day con spread over four days.” This is true, but it’s not necessarily a bad thing. One doesn’t NEED to be going from place to place at mach speeds of over 9000 all the goddamn time. Sometimes it’s best to sit around and chill with a few thousand people and meander around from place to place in no particular rush. Only thing that would have made it better is if they had a bar right outside of the dealer’s hall and registration or served beer at the Maid Café. Hey, that’s an idea: a Maid wet bar. No, not wet nurse, wet bar! Sheesh, bunch of pervs out there, I swear. Wait, I’m the only one writing here. FUCK!

Anime Expo 2008 Battle of the Bands

After conquering a most annoying bug in my encoding software, I have managed to finally encode the Battle of the Bands from Anime Expo this year.

If you like what you see (or not) don't be afraid to tell me I suck on the forums. CLOSED

Speed Racer Movie 2008 Review

Well, taking a break from writing reports and doing stuff from the conventions, I've gone ahead and written up a review of the live action Speed Racer movie; and a movie I'd recommend all anime fans go see at least once on the big screen.

As always, here's a forums thread if you want to make comments on the Speed Racer movie or the review itself. CLOSED

ACEN 2008 Report Part 2

Well, finally got the ACEN 2008 report part 2 written and posted. There you can see the culmination of my trials and tribulations...okay, I can't back that up. What you can see is the good time I had at a great convention. True it had a few mishaps, but overall, I'd recommend that place to everyone.

Anime Expo 2008 Pics are Available

The world is coming to an end. I have the AX pics up right after con! Why, you might wonder? Well, let's just say that a certain couple of cute girls looked at me and gave me a heartfelt complaint about my tardiness with the Fanime pics...seriously those looks should be classified as lethal weapons.

Well, just got back from Anime Expo, and overall impression of the con is both surprisingly and extremely favorable. More on that later. Right now, I've managed to upload the Fanime 2008 pics part 2 to TFA Cosplay for your enjoyment.

Anime Expo is fast coming upon us. As we all know, it's at the L.A. Convention Center this year, and only time will tell if this will be a good or bad move. One can only hope that we all don't wind up regretting it. On that note, the guys at Project Cosplay have done a bit of leg work for us in showing us a little of what to expect in the convention and where to go out of where to get food, heh.
