After a few weeks of procrastination, we finally have the Fanime 2014 Report up. What to say about this year? A lot better than last year, let me tell you. Though I think we need a lot more participation from our fellow journalists than simply walking around and taking pictures, like providing some feedback and participating a bit more in the events other than just showing up thinking everything will be ready for whatever...we need to get in there and take a bit more of a part of production so we can all do our jobs better and not step on each other's toes. Honestly, though, that's more of a personal anecdote. Read on to see more about what the convention was about and how well they did this year.
I know, I've been a little bit late with this one. I'll admit, I've been mulling a lot of things over in my mind over it, and I've decided this year there will be no Youtube video of the Masquerade for Fanime. Their rights filter is far too restrictive anymore to make it a viable platform for these variety shows. Thus, it may be, in the future, that we wind up on Vimeo or something, but Youtube's days are numbered.
Until we have a streaming solution, we'll use torrents, and here's the torrent for the Fanime 2014 Masquerade as hosted by Nyaa Torrents...or you can click the little attachment link below if you're reading this news item on its own page here at Dragon's Anime.
To one and all, enjoy! It was a fun year!
In what I can only commit seppuku for, since these pics are in that risque category I was talking about, and we now have an adult check...of sorts...I have now uploaded the pics from last year's Myth: Legends of Burlesque and Magic taken by Mayhem.
It was a fantastic show; truly there is no doubt about that. It was one of the best events that I'd ever been at during any convention, and I look forward to this year's. If any of the performers want larger and/or raw copies of these pics, let me know and I'll make them available. For everyone else...enjoy responsibly, heh.
And now for the second set of pics, this time brought to you by Mayhem. In this set we have his normal Fanime 2014 cosplay pics, his pics taken at the Cosplay Bikini Contest, and his Masquerade backstage pics.
As is usual, you can message me or Mayhem to get a larger and or raw version of your cosplay if you see it up there. Enjoy!
Alright, before the main event, I'll make a note that yes, we've implemented a verification check at TFA Cosplay. It doesn't work like how I want it to, but it is better than nothing, and will allow me a level of plausible deniability to upload various photos that are far more risque than I'd normally be comfortable without at least asking, 'sure you really want to go there?' Mostly I'd like to implement it on an as needed basis, be it galleries or individual pics, but unless I can manage to code my own, this is what I have to work with.
In what has to be record time, I have the 2014 Anime Central Pics up in the gallery at TFA Cosplay. Despite some of the press related issues, the convention goers themselves continue to outdo themselves time and time again, and this year was no exception. Though I will say it's damn near impossible to get to a gathering and take pictures anymore, due to the shear amount of people and photographers there. Still, you're not here to listen to me bitch, so click that link up there; you won't be dissapointed.
As is usual, if you're one of the cosplayers and want a larger and or raw version of the photos, message us via whatever method suits you best, and we'll make them available.

After a couple of weeks of procrastination, I now have the Anime Conji 2014 report up. It was an interesting convention in a lot of ways, as it wound up breaking convention (ha! I pun!) in several ways, and I wound up taking the time to do the same. In terms of checking out the Nerf war and panels I usually wouldn't it was an interesting time this year. Check out my little writeup; it may convince you to check the convention out if you're ever in the area to do so.
The only video I managed to record this year at Anime Conji was the panel by well known cosplayer, Maridah. In this video you will find helpful advice for all stages of cosplay and cosplay enthusiasts as well as some humorous anecdotes in the world an extremely nice and down to Earth (such as can be said of any of us, heh) cosplayer. It is unfortunate that I was only able to start the camera at the second question due to not being able to be let in early.
