Ghost Hunt Reviewed

I've added a new review for Ghost Hunt, the new TV series based on the manga of the same name by Shiho Inada. Join Mai and Naru as they look for answers in the world of the paranormal with the help of other exorcists of varying faiths and religions. It's a fun series folks, take a look at the review to see if its something you'd like. There's a discussion thread all setup here, too. CLOSED

Ghost Hunt (TV, 2006)

The first time that I ran across Ghost Hunt was when I saw it at Barnes & Noble, featured on the New Manga rack. I read through the first issue, though ultimately decided to put it back because I'd already collected what I wanted to pick up for the day, and didn't really have the money to buy more. Honestly, though it looked like a pretty good manga, an occult series set in the modern day world, it didn't make enough of a splash in my mind to actively remember to go back and look at. Skip ahead six months, when I see the name Ghost Hunt pop up in my RSS feeder. I remembered the manga, and decided to take a look.

Demented Little Man's Zero no Tsukaima Review

Let it never be said, dear readers, we don't go all out! I am sicker than a terrier dog after sucking down a ton of chocolate, and is a review for Zero no Tsukaima. It's a horribly compressed anime, that couldn't quite make itself bad regardless of what was done...and what wasn't done to it, heh.

If someone could make the comments thread for me, I'll give you...well, you probably don't want what I'd have to give you at this point, but I'd be really appreciative, heh. CLOSED

Rescue Wings Review

I've added a preview of the Bandai Visual series Rescue Wings, a look at the lives of those who risk their lives to save others. This isn't your usual anime series folks, as I mention in the preview. Grab your flight suit and buckle in, because it's harsh weather all the way to the rescue site!

Also, David is at AnimeExpo 2006 this weekend, so look forward to his report on the events at the West Coast's biggest anime convention - to say nothing of some awesome CosPlay!

Witchblade & Karin Reviews

This week it's a double dose look at anime, with the Witchblade preview and the Karin reviewWitchblade is an all-new anime retelling of the popular American comic book series of the same name, produced by GONZO.  Karin tells the tale of an embarrassed young girl trying to deal with the meanings of happiness and vampirism.   Might wanna wear a splash guard folks, the blood's hard to scrub out.

Karin (TV, 2006)

What do you get when you turn a vampire inside out? Apparently, you get Karin, a series about a young girl named Maaka Karin and her family... of vampires. If not for one minor problem, that'd be perfectly appropriate, as Karin herself is a vampire. Well, sorta. You see, Karin is rather unique among her kind. Rather than being unable to produce blood for herself, she produces far too much, and so when she goes out for a bite, it's to inject her excess blood into somebody else. It's either that, or getting enough of a nose bleed to paint the walls. Aside from that, she's just a normal, growing vampire girl... well, not really.
