Rozen Maiden Träumend (TV, 2005)

Overview

Following the ending of the first season of Rozen Maiden, the 5th doll of the Maiden's, Shinku, formerly flush with her victory over Suigin Tou now finds herself wracked with guilt over destroying a sister. Unfortunately, the final two Rozen Maidens have been awoken to finish what was started centuries ago when Rozen first created the Maidens: The Alice Game. The game by which the dolls will do battle until only one remains. The winner takes the loser's Roza Mystica, the very source of the life of the dolls; leaving the loser a soulless immobile husk. And when there is only one left, that doll will then have the power to become Alice; the perfect girl, flawless and unblemished, more sublime than any flower, and more pure than even the purest of gems. Though the remaining dolls have no intention of killing each other for this ideal, Bara Suisho, the final doll, has other plans.

Rozen Maiden: Träumend Review

Today we have a review the next season of a series I think everyone should probably take time to sit down and watch, Rozen Maiden: Träumend. A fair warning to those that do...you may find yourself hopelessly hooked on this wonderful and deep story.

Renkin 3-kyū Magical? Pokān Review

Today comes a preview of Renkin 3-kyu Magical Pokan, a series that seems to have a bit of a split personality disorder.  With enough cute to give a fluoride factory tooth decay, it might be cute enough to catch your eye...  But watch for childish antics.

Melancholy of Haruhi Suzumiya Review

I've added a preview of the Melancholy of Haruhi Suzumiya, by Nagaro Tanigawa, produced by Kyoto Animation. I think that fans of FLCL will love the madness of MoHS, and those that enjoy satire will too. Just remember... what Suzumiya-san wants, Suzumiya-san gets... no matter who she has to blackmail!

This week marks the first appearance of the Dragon's Anime previews section. Unlike reviews, the previews section will deal with first impressions of the first couple episodes of a series, sort of a heads up for people that are looking for something new to try. The first preview is for the new series Tactical Roar, produced by Studio A-Cat and Bandai Visual. In addition, I've also moved the Hellsing Ultimate review over into previews.

Fullmetal Alchemist Review

This week I've added my thoughts on Fullmetal Alchemist, which just finished its run on CN just this week.  A good series to watch, but it has its problems, as you'll see. Cheers.

Furi Kuri Reviewed

I've added a new review for FLCL (Furi Kuri) in the Anime Reviews section. Watch out for Haruko, she likes to use human skulls for guitar-smashing practice.

Onegai Teacher (TV, 2002)

Overview

Kei Kusanagi, who at first glance looks to be your typical anime spineless wuse, dreams the dreams of a teenage boy one night looking at the stars...only to see what appears to be a gorgeous woman in light later descend from what may have been a starship. Turns out said woman is in fact an alien by the name of Mizuho Kazami and has secured for herself a job as a his homeroom teacher in order to observe and study the goings on of Earth. Problem is, Kei knows what she is, and she cannot let that go without securing his silence...which sparks off a unique chain of events where Kei actually winds up married to the pretty alien, but what happens after is even more intriguing.

Tsukuyomi (TV, 2004)

Overview

Morioka Kohei is a freelance photo journalist who seems to have a problem, in that he can't help but photograph spirits, though generally spiritual energy seems to have very little affect upon him. This leadsto him being contracted quite often by a certain magazine that studies the supernatural, and him flying out to Germany to take photographs of one majorly gothic type castle. Quite quickly he encounters one of its denizens, a young and beautiful girl by the name of Hazuki, who is dressed quite appropriately in EGL. Eventually he convinces her to model a bit for him, though there will be a price involved... which leads to all sorts of extremely surreal happenings, not the least of which he winds up living with, taking care of, and feeding this young girl...the feeding of which is important, as she's actually a vampire.
