Airbending with the best of 'em

In what will hopefully become a more common occurrence now that convention season is finally caught up with, I present a review that rather surprises me that I'd have done. For your viewing pleasure, I give you Avatar: The Last Airbender. Yes, a local production, very much anime inspired, but with a western flavor all its own, and quite literally one of the best things I've ever seen. So much is surprising about this series, that one can only marvel at it, not only that it overcame all the hurdles it must have just to get made, but that it did so, and excelled nearly beyond every standard of excellence set forth before it came about. Needless to say, I recommend it highly, but check out my review for more details.

Avatar: The Last Airbender (TV, 2006)

Overview

A set of siblings, Sokka the aspiring warrior and his sister Katara the aspiring Water Bender, out on a fishing trip and lamenting the state of affairs their world is currently in, happen upon an ice burg where trapped inside they see a boy. The boy, upon sensing the power Katara is using as a Water Bender, breaks free from his icy prison, and it is here we meet the main character of the show, Aang, The Last Airbender and eventually found to be the Avatar, the only person capable of mastering the manipulation of all four elements. It is also widely prophesized that the Avatar is the only one who can bring back balance to the world by defeating the Fire Lord and ending the war that the Fire Nation started just as Aang was born some one hundred years prior. Only problem is, Aang is still just a boy of twelve years despite being frozen in ice for a century, and will need training to master all the elements before even making the attempt. Oh, and he’s got to master the elements before Sozin’s Comet shows up again, which will provide the Fire Nation all the power it needs to finish the job they started a hundred years ago.

Dragon's Anime Proudly Presents

I'm pleased to present to you the work of Little Masa-ouki, a long time friend from the #TenchiFF chatroom of Aniverse, and his newest Anime Music Video. Because it is an Avatar AMV, he wasn't able to get it hosted in the normal places, such as animemusicvideos.org, or even youtube.com, so Dragon's Anime is honored, and proud to provide it here instead. The AMV is presented in Jeroen Wijering's Flash Media Player, which works similar to YouTube's player. You can find the video here in Little Masa-Ouki's new section, Masa's Corner.
